How to keep safer sex with partner having HIV..?
Jan 3, 2012
QUESTION:
Is it possible to have happy sexual life even if having HIV..How to keep safer sex with partner having HIV..?
RESPONSE FROM SHANNON:
YES it is truly possible to have a happy and healthy sex life with either or both partners being positive. Using protection is a must. Good communication is a must! Knowing your body is a must! My husband is negative and I'm positive and we have a great sex life and I know of many sero different couples or magnetic couples ( one positive and the other not) who have great sex lives as well as partners who are both positive. Making sure the person living with HIV is active with their treatment, seeing a doctor and if on medication is adherent (not missing any doses). Learning how to use a condom correctly and again communication with one another is huge. There is life after diagnosis and that does include a healthy and happy sex life.

QUESTION FROM MICHAEL
- are you having any luck with the person you have feelings for? you posted something about finding the person you are meant to be with the other day... I thought that was great.
RESPONSE FROM BONG
- Still on the lookout --- it is not easy but am very happy nonetheless. I have learned that my happiness should not be dependent on other people. I love myself and I am happy. Finding a partner is a bonus

UPDATE:
i ended my short dating stint with someone - we went out twice - mabait sya super, pero when we started to get intimate napagusapan ang tungkol sa sex and he said - wala pa syang nagiging bf (at sex) dahil ayaw nya talaga at natatakot syang magka HIV - just as i was at the brink of disclosing that day - at the end, i decided he's not ready for me - iv chosen not to disclose - and the next day we called it quits - we're still good friends - i hope - but i miss that kiss ;)
first try - failed

hello M,
Pasig City --- Social Hygiene Clinic
Dr. Rocylene Roque - Social Hygiene Clinic Physician
Address: Caruncho Ave., Brgy. San Nicolas, Pasig City / 6400111
Mandaluyong City --- Social Hygiene Clinic
Dr. Yolanda Tuaño - Social Hygiene Clinic Physician
Lerma corner Vicencio Sts., Old Zaniga, Mandaluyong City / 5467799; 2115336
Mobile #: 09178424298
at palaging tatandaan na magsuot ng proteksyon ALL THE TIME.
salamat,

MGA TANUNG NI KOJIE
Hello Bong,
My name is KOJIE from pque 23. At my age, I also have the same blessing. Dont want to mention the magic word. I have so many thoughts in my mind. After knowing that I have obtained the blessing, my plans in life suddenly changed. I need some pieces of advice if its okay:
I planned to work abroad some day when I reach the age of at least 27-28 but knowing I have it I guess its no longer possible, can it be detected from my requirement?
I planned to establish my own family when I reach 30 but having it made me changed to stay single forever and not to put someone at risk and also to pass this on my child.
I decided to stay with my current job, just worried if it can be detected with CBC.
Sorry for the confusion, I am indeterminate and I have researched o it and its going there after a month so I am just preparing myself. Will have to visit mid of Jan 2012.
Regards,
KOJIE
hello kojie,
salamat

GOD LOVES BAKLA
andito ako sa isang malayong lugar, mag isa lang ako, looking for directions, trying to find peace- i decided to bring ramond's book - matagal ko na rin gustong ipagpatuloy ang pagbabasa nito - raymond gave this personalized signed copy to me when we met in one event.
...at page 58 (god loves bakla), this caught my attention
--------------
God, when i die, i'll have many questions to ask You, but there'll be a most important one which You'll really have to answer well. Because i could never see the logic of why You had done what You had done with me. The biggest burden a man could ever have is n my frail shoulders. I don't want to fail my friends and family. I know you help those who help themselves, but it seems I can't already help myself. I need a miracle, Jess. Please... (17 May 1984) - Raymond Alikpala
--------------
p.s. i'm a non practicing catholic --- err... agnostic is more accurately i can define it. --- and if that's the case who do i turn to instead???

KEEPING MY MOUTH SHUT!
sometimes parang gusto mong sumigaw...
at maiisip mo na lang... you get what you deserve...
wala kang masabihan...
kahit kaibigan mo...
hay buhay...
tang-ina!
ganito pala yun...

thanks for you email ken.
need mo talagang magpatest separately.
the blood testing centers for donated bloods are not allowed to inform or call the donor kung magpositive ang blood na tinetest nila, bawal sa batas yun. dinidispose lang nila yung blood pero di nila tatawagan ang concerned person (donor).
hiv test can only be done with consent - and in those cases you did not give consent to do hiv test on your blood. they are just doing the routinary hiv test for the purpose of protecting the recipient and making sure that the blood is safe. common misconception yan ng mga nagdonate ng blood. mabuti at nagtanung ka.
kaya mo yan, whether positive or negative ka man, you deserve to know ur status. early detection is the key. hiv is not a death sentence. it only becomes a death sentence if you find out too late.
i hope u find your strength to take the test. Its for your own good.
safe sex always.

SAFE PARTEEEING?
____________
bong: hello mike, kamusta ka na?
mike: i am good po! parteed yesterday, but made sure i wore a condom. kawawa naman madadali ko eh. LOL!
bong: thats cool. are you done with ur baseline lab tests na? are you under arvs na?
(no response)
____________
i felt disappointed with mike, mukhang he's back in his old ways, even his condition does not stop him from changing his ways.
at the same time i felt so helpless, nalulungkot at sobrang naaapektuhan ako, kasi alam ko there's a 90% chance this mode of transmission is exactly how i got infected.
i hope soon i get the chance to talk to him sincerely, i dont know his real story pa mahirap mangaral, he doesnt trust me yet, he doesn't know me. wish ko na lang pag nangailangan sya ng makakausap at tulong, sa akin sya lumapit.

Bloody Question
QUESTION: drying of blood. when small drop blood on houshold things and we touched the things then blood goes into open wound..what is the risk to cause hiv ?? small drop of blood of hiv survival outside the body??
RESPONSE: from Dr. McGowan
There is no real risk from the dried blood. There is very little HIV in a drop of blood and CDC laboratory studies have shown that drying HIV reduces the viral amounts by 90 to 99 percent within several hours. No one has ever been infected after exposure to HIV from being exposed to HIV from their surroundings.
Best, Joe
